Changing South Fulton a Senior at a Time

South Fulton Senior Services achieves its mission through programs which promote mental and physical well-being for mature adults.  By meeting the needs of not only seniors, but of their family members, SFSS creates the most wide spread and effective change with the resources at hand. There are over 130,000 seniors residing within Fulton County, and its only through these innovative programs that SFSS can create such a wide and lasting impact. 

Meals on Wheels

Program
There are over 130,000 seniors residing within Fulton County.  Of special concern to the Home Delivered Meals (HDM) program are frail, isolated and/or handicap elderly individuals who lack proper nutrition to preserve their physical and mental well being.  In addition to the meals, these customers are in need of the supportive social services this program can provide.

Home Delivered Meals provide attractive nutritious balanced meals to help older persons remain independent in their homes for as long as possible. By removing individual and social barriers hindering the participants’ independence SFSS provides a continuum of care to older persons in Fulton County. Support services to these individuals may also be provided as part of the process.

Process
The objectives associated with these tasks are attained through case management.  The services available are information and referral outreach, counseling, in-home services and demand response transportation.
 

Eligibility Requirements

- Any adult 60 years of age or older and in need is eligible to receive a meal. 
- Must be a resident in Fulton County.
